The scary dicotomy of writing

Posted by Jason

At a session in a recent literature conference, a presenter commented on Anne Sexton, who seemed to be a overcomer and accomplisher in her writing, but could not hold on to her own life, eventually leading to her suicide. She went on to make a comment how it seems writing allows people to be entirely different people in their writing. This certainly does not have any sort of golden revelation, just a thought.

I enjoy writing as it allows me to express my thoughts and present aspects of myself that I wish to be better, but at the same time... with regards to those aspects in my own physical life, I never seem to gain control.
